I wish to thank you and all the committee members and volunteers who made it possible to publish the book. I am amazed at the amount of information you have put together. I feel as though I will have a degree in history when I finish studying all of it.
I started researching the Dufloth name in 1964 so you can imagine how thrilled I was to see theDufloth/Tufloth name in the Authenticated origins column on page 20. I owe Gwen Pritzkau a special thank you for that gem of information.
I was so surprised to see my picture in the book. I can't imagine what I did to deserve such an honor, unless it is because of my age. I have been aware that all during my research, I was usually dealing with someone the age of my children.
My research really took off when I joined GCRA. I found all the information I needed in the books you published. I did all my research in a comfortable chair at home with the following books: "Glückstal Colonies Births and Marriages, 1833-1900," "Glückstal Colonies Deaths, 1833-1900, and "1858 Glückstal Colony Census."

You folks did a great job. Wouldn't it be great to have the same thing and all that information for all of our villages? I can't praise you enough for all the painstaking hours you put in but it was worth it and I am sure everyone who has use of the material will be thanking you also.

Our chapter in Spokane watched the Glückstal video today at our meeting...VERY GOOD!!! Everyone there really enjoyed it, and I just wanted your group to know that!!

Just received the Germans from Russia 200 year book and CD's, etc. How exciting and what an absolutely wonderful job all of you did in putting it together. I am just pouring through it, and find that the sections on Lodi are so much fun. All the Hiebs, Preszlers, Mettlers, Handels, etc., all lived by us and are all related. We all had vineyards out in the
Victor/lockeford area outside of Lodi. I especially liked the CD's with the certificates that I had mailed in. I took the CD's to work and everyone was in awe of the certificates.

Thanks for your interest, and yes, I received everything I ordered. I still say the Glückstal Book is the most monumental work I've seen, considering all the sources, translations, and organization needed. I hope to add about my grandfather, Jacob Ladner, leaving the Army, 1884, and emigrating. He was Evangelical in the strict sense -- there are no photos of him.
Fascinating. Auf wiedersehen, your good friend,
John Ladner
I have so much enjoyed the Glückstal book.

What a monumental effort! I carried the book one day at convention so I could get signatures. But it is so heavy, probably because it is so full and complete - that I could not carry it the next day. What a great job this committee did!

Thank you very much for the book and CD disks. The book is awesome!! I have not seen the CDs yet, but I am sure I will be very happy with them. I should have sent you some pictures of my parents and relatives, but I am going to put them on a disk and send it to you. Someone will be happy to see it. I better get busy!!
Thank you so much for all the work. God bless you and all!!
